Hey Butch, that does blow but I do it anyway. Have for over 40 years. It's just worth it to me to get the he!! out of Florida for a few (cooler) weeks, see old friends and family and relax in the woods that I grew up in. :s1:

Thanks PJ - just wanted to be sure.

It seems almost like a ploy to get us to buy lifeteime licenses. And its working because i am going out to buy one for me and my 8 month old daughter. Wether or not she decieds to hunt, it is a good investment for her.

You surely can do what you wish, but I think purchasing a lifetime license for an 8 month old will benefit the state way more at the present time than it will you or your daughter since she is at least 12 years away from hunting herself. None of us can guarantee that our kids will want to hunt no matter how hard we might encourage them. Like most things in life hunting is a personal choice. If you invested that money wisely for her, she can use it for school or something if it turns out she doesn't have an interest in hunting. Way better than giving money to the state for nothing in return. |
people are living longer...lol.

Don't you have to pass the hunter safety course in order to be able to purchase a license?
|
Not trying to sound like a jerk here. But it amazes me how people suddenly react to changes in our hunting world on this site after its too late. The talk of the license increase was made well known since beginning of this year. Many, many sportsman organizations were fighting the increase. Hunters needed to pull together, and reach your representatives. So all I can say is if your just realizing it now, and don't like it. Its a little too late. You needed to react earlier to possibly stop it!!

Buckalley you are right that we may be too little too late but in this case I don't think it would have done any good . Peterson has only one answer for the mess this state is in raise more money (taxes fees etc....) next year when we renew our car registrations we will see a 25% increase plus paying for new plates another wall street bailout if you ask me most people living outside NYC NEED TO DRIVE to get to work, school or whatever where those in the city driving is much more of a luxury public transportation is the norm there

This is not true. Read below the post. This is from the Dec website. You do not have to pay extra with a super sportsman!
