RE: Pennsylvania deer kills drop

I agree Jim,while a few arestuck in that "any buck's better than a doe" mentality, I have been witnessing a new "maturing" among PA's hunters. Guys who would never have passed a legal buck before because the next guy down the line would just shoot him anyway are now letting them walk.

Of course, the bird will say we have no proof! Of course we don't. It's not something that can be objectively evaluated but I darn sure knowit when I see it and it seems thatothers are seeing it too.

I've been saying forever its about the hunters, we are the ones behind the triggers. All the whining in the world will not bring back a dead deer. A little bit of discipline and a lot of education could bebenefit all.
The closed mindedness is the root of the problem and always will be. On one hand we have the P.G.C. whom fail to make changes in areas where it is quite apparent that a change would be beneficial. But on the other hand we have hunters ,and I use that term loosely, who refuse to realize that they are a very small part of Pa's population yet want complete control over deer numbers.
Middle ground seems to be an unlikely scenario in this quagmire.

actually you are wrong. Only ones Ive heard that spew that over and over is pgc and I can show you the direct quote from the audubon site where it originated.

If you take into account we as hunters, plus all those who SUPPORT US our families and friends who DO NOT hunt... Doing that multiplies our 900,000 plus GREATLY. Then toss out the many others who couldnt care less one way or the other....

Then what are you left with? A tiny minority who wanted and gotfew deer.

I agree. Pgc will bend on NOTHING at all of substance. IF it equates to ZERO more deer, or no smaller wmus, no nothing, then its NOT the hunter to blame for lack of compromise.

RE: Pennsylvania deer kills drop

RSB pointed out that sample size had shifted. He didnt attempt to create a different result. He merely pointed out that the statewide results were an avergae created when the input had shifted. you responded by posting an intentionally distorted example, inserting information you made up, that was proven meaningless
That is an out right lie and you know it. I posted an example using reasonable shifts in sample size from areas with high breeding rates to low breeding rates and you came back with a ridiculous estimates that were totally unrelated to reality. I further supported my position showing that more does were still being checked in the areas with high breeding rates compared to those with low breeding rates and you and RSB had no logical rebuttal. Furthermore, RSB just admitted he didn't know how to make a rational comparison.

There is the reason DCNR forced the PGC to reduce the herd by 40%. They wanted their forest re-certified for export.

Wrong again Bluejob!

(name calling used reluctantly in direct retaliationfor the false accusation of lying)

You also insertedunsupported assumed numbers directly the oppositeof what RSB reported. I corrected thatand you havent been able to justify the numbers you use since other than to falsely accuse people of lying without any supporting proof. When you call someone a liar, the burden of proof is on you and you have failed to do that Bluejob!

Do you refuse to acknowledge that the owners of the property that feeds and shelters our deer should have a significant say in how the deer should be controlled?

rsb, on bidding on timber,DCNR

we were going to widen the hyner mtn road.we wanted bus tours of hyner view.

we had the equipment ready to cut trees.

DCNR wanted twice what wood was worth, THEY DID NOT WANT TO CUT IT.

then they ,OH THE LUMBER COMPANIES ARE NOT INTERESTED.

it was not that they were not interested, its that they wanted to kill the PROJECT ,so they upped the money to kill it.

they even said that there was LIZARDS that live along road that would die.

dcnr did not want it, so they klilled it.[:@]
