Gee, thanks for the cut'n paste update. ;)

So I now know what theGreat Grumblerhad to say about a response I made to Coalcracker's comments on "food plots".Poor devilreally can'tresist the urge to spew, apparently?

Also just realized that if I scroll down below the response feature, the ignore feature doesn't work.

Well Denny, You're already dumb. So if you stick your fingers in your ears, that will make you both death and dumb.

Someone might also wanna tell Denny that most emotionally mature"adults" don't need to use an "ignore" feature to prevent their self from being worked up into a froth over people expressing their anti-treehugger opinions, and distaste for a failed deer plan.;) LMAO!

Here are both the horns on the skull are just under 19 inches on the in side.
The mass on the single horn is just incredible. I am guessing the deer that the skull came from died in August, because the end of the horns were eaten away like they might have been in velvet, also because of the very rough texture of the horns them selves. They have very sharp little knobs that don't appear to have been rubbed.
But really who knows.

Neat bucks Jim! It's a shame they went the way they did but hopefully their genes still roam your woods:D

The Il trip was a great time in spite of some really crazy weather. We intended to call yotes each morning but heavy rains simply made the cabin a whole lot more attractive. Walked a good bit of bedding cover after the rains let up and found tons of sign but not one shed. Unusual for that area and a bit baffling because we saw plenty of deer that appeared to be shed bucks.

The deer absolutely mauled our turnips over the winter. The strips of small craters where the turnips used to be are the only sign left there.

Sunday brought winds that got up to 50 mph and never seemed to go below 30 mph. Walked two properties we are considering leasing for 2010 and found ourselves wishing we didnt have to wait another year for them to be available. We saw hundreds of deer over the weekend.

Drove home yesterday and saw hundreds more from the interstate. The sightings got numerous as we came through eastern Ohio on 70 as the day got long and hit the PA line in time for the last 15 minutes of light. Can't speak for all of 2A but the I-70 corridor is just teeming with deer. Our light was gone by quickly as we came into PA but we managed to see a dozen plus groups of deer numbering as few a s 2-3 to a dozen or more. I guess that a few deer survived down there after all;)

Its a shame the weather got so bad. The coyotes need some thinning around here too.
I planted turnips a couple of years ago and the deer loved them, yet I've read where others say they don't touch them. Mine ate the foliage in the fall and dug the turnips up all winter long.:)

No sheds is really surprising,do you think some one might of beat you to them?

Couldn't help but wonder that myself.

The landowner and family hadn't been out there yet but we did see quad tracks on one lane that could only be explained as tresspassers.[:@]

200 dollars worth of alfalfa i put out and deer walk right thru it[:@]

yet, others say they eat it.

i put it in my yard and it scared my deer away in fall last year.

i had 2 bucks,3 doe and 2 fawns and not 1 has shown up.

rumors is my neighbors kid had the little spike on his back porch hanging in gun season.those spikes were just 3 inchs long from my pictures.

oh well, i try to keep a buck alive and they get shot first year.[:@]
