Getting ready to make the bi-annual pilgrimage to Wayne County from Mass. Any PA hunters around to tell me how the winter was down there? Any birds talking in that area of the state? Heard from the farmers we do crowd control with that there was an awful amount of snow there, but aside from the slightly higher than usual deer getting smacked by cars, it looks good for the spring and fall. I' d love any feedback you got about this area.

Jay, Lots and lots of snow. When we ran the hounds this winter they were on taken onto (by coyotes) and ended up on (after losing the coyotes trail) roads more than any of the past four seasons combined. We found deer concentrated in specific areas with little deer sign between areas of deer concentrations. Spring has finally arrived. Streams are high but fishable. Fishing was reported as slow in a lot of areas due to high waters and low water temps (I think) this past Saturday. Looking forward to Turkey season. I watched a double bearded beauty this afternoon from the car. One long thick beard about 9 inches or more and one thick stubby beard about an inch below that one that was about 2 inches long, but everybit as thick if not more. Can' t wait to go out there.
