i had 9 new jersey hunters within 150 yds or so of my spot:eek:

i think they stunk that buck out of area:(

can you believe they follow me around, set up their stands near me.[:@]

anyhow, that buck i think sat in that spot between them until tuesday afternoon when 1 of them decide to walk thru area.

he ran out and right up path past their cars:D:D:D:D

i know his track and way he runs from snow in archery bear week, so i think it was him.;):D

they have been gone as of thursday, i was going out now but decided to wait until 6 am in morning on sat do to wind right now is awful here in clinton but sun is out.am i nuts for going out at 20 degrees,:D

boy, these people used to get 3 bucks when they came for 9 of them,last 3 years, they got like 1 and this year,NONE.

they are one tough bunch of hunters, they sat from 6 am to dark every day up to late thursday night i that high winds on monday and tuesday.

i took about 4 hrs of it and that was enough but if they would not have been around me, i would have stayed longer.

now, i have place to myself other than the doe hunters coming sat in gangs which i hope dont show up..

the roads are real nasty today, it rained all night then froze today.

you would not believe the wrecks in woods this week, local chevy garage had a ton of wrecks they went out on and all hunters at 6am to 7 am in morning and all wrecks were hunters coming DOWN the roads not up roads.

their trucks just took off and slammed into hunters coming up the roads.

i almost got it to, guy was sailing down road but i saw him coming and put it in reverse.

very close indeed.

i let my tire air on my 16 inch chevy truck tires down to about 22 pds.

normal is 50 pds,it helps and will not overheat on dirt roads or highways if you dont have far to go,then i go to gas station and put more in them if i have highway miles to go , like 30 or 40 miles but my home is only 6 miles away ..

this has SAVED me many times.;)

If you're in four wheel drive going up aint bad but going down is a different story.
If I look back on most of the buck I killed late in the season they were in the nasty,steepest,thick stuff you can find.
However two years ago I got lucky and caught one in the open on the last Friday.:D

i can add this, they are feeding at 1 pm to 3 pm THEN BEDDING BACK DOWN.

the hunters are hunting from 6 am to 11am, then 3 pm to dark.

the deer TRACKS i do see are out foxing THE HUNTERS THIS YEAR:D

Just spent the 1st week in 2D. I counted well over 200 deer. Probably same ones over and over. A few small bucks not legal shooters. I hunted various terrain and usually by myself in unpressured areas back in the mountain. Duroing the 1st rut in November I saw a alot of legal bucks and in fact more than I saw doe. I also will say that the locals and other camps I visited got skunked as well. I mean guys that traditionally get deer were skunked. Here is my thought: I think these bucks as they get older are getting smarter and hiding better! Jeeze what a dummy you say, well I think this year will be the proof as guys are going home skunked. Got to change how we hunt again just like when they brought on the 4 point one side rule. Older bucks are smarter. Saturday was not the shooting fest I thought we would have actually quiet and I think because it was cold people quit. I',m thinking the deer drives are going to have to come back, because I'm to freaking old to be hanging off the side of the river hill side holding onto a laurel bush to keep from sliding to the bottom. LOL I agree w/ Sproulman (suprisingly) I think Flint season is going to be my buck season. I will probably hunt the 1st day of buck because it is tradition (if they keep this rule) only and then come back the second week for a day or 2 . I know I will spend more time in Flint lock season from now on, as very little pressure, usually snow, deer are back in their patterns and the game wardens are snug in their beds! LOL

only problem is cold is going to be bad then too.

you know i have not seen a deer yet :(

i only hunt bucks.

i hunted hard first week but sat, it was awful on wind.

now, i am only hunting in afternoon,will be on my stand at 2 pm today.,;)

my problem was new jersery hunters put their 9 stands all around me.

that buck i was after was shot,not by me.:(

for 3 days i could not understand why i did not see 3 doe i saw with buck.

after i saw how close those 9 hunters were to me, i can understand what happened.:eek:

i heard what sounded like a buck snort for 3 days.

on 4th day,i heard same thing and i thought, SPROUL lets stalk that baby.;)

i did, guess what i found.

it was a hunter in treestand with a bad cough and he was using one of those COUGH suppressors you can buy that you cough into it.:eek:

unreal.

you know they left their treestands there for next year.

7 ladder treestands ,boy, theyt must have faith in us hunters.:)
