Default Mass Shotgun

Good Luck to all those heading out in the morning. Hopefully we will have better luck slinging steel than most of us didplucking arrows.

Hunted Beartown as well. I have never seen as little sign out there. There are more deer here on the coast!! Heard a few odd shots is all. Should have stayed home and hunted here.

The scary part is ten years ago you had to reserve a hotel room. Now the hotels are all empty. Sad days in western MA!!

Maybe the state ought to cut back big time on Z3 doe permits. Not enough deer to warrant killing does and they gave out quite a few.

They give out way too many z3 doe permits. I drew a zone 2 this year...
Planter, where are you hunting up Beartown? We come in from the back side down by Monteray line... Brace Rd.

Off Allcott in GB I go uphill and let everyone else go downhill. I do like to hit 3 Mile Pond/East Moutainbut the stars didn't line up and I saw so little Monday I decided to come back home on the coast where at least there are some deer.

10 of us used to rent a camp on Lake Beulland everyone one had shots or at least opportunities. I think the last time we went as a bunch we took a small doe. PERIOD.

Talk about a shot out herd of deer!!

I hear ya Planter... very slow around here. Not many people doing much... just little pieces of land in South County... Sheffield, Egremont, etc...
We are heading out across the Berkshires Sat... we will start out in Lanesboro and end up in Blandford...
We've got a good crew. We are all crazy in the woods, so we should stir up some deer.

I had no luck during bow season. Not even a sighting. I got a nice 150lb buck Last Wednesday. Walked right in front of me. It was my first deer. He's in the freezer and Im hoping for another. I dont like the doe tag set up in Ma. I went down to get my tag and they said the state just stopped selling them less then 2 minutes ago. O well. They should only issue one doe tag per hunter. I hear alot of people will keep going back and buying more.

Im east of you guys hunting on private land in Westford.

Good luck

The New Salem Quabbin hunt was a dismal hunt only 6 deer checked in on the first day. One was a nice buck though.
