i have not heard of one from fall turkey season.

1 was seen in keating,pa area of clinton county and PETES RUN area of clinton county.

this was around oct.

very seldom if any are seen in winter.

i have not got 1 report in winter..

this hunter that saw 1 in petes run i talked too, he knows what he saw, i believe him.

YET, i have friends that have camp in same area for 40 years and NEVER SAW ONE AND HUNT THERE IN DEER SEASON AND TURKEY.

this hunter has been coming to this spot for 25 years.

he has camp 5 miles from that spot.

he described a COUGAR with longtail,he said 3 ft long..

i believe this guy .

rwj, if you knew how foolish you sound.

IF I SAID I SAW COUGAR, YOU BETTER BELIEVE I DID.so did your WCO in clearfield but was told too tell me THEY DONT EXIST.

thats why i dont make any fun of people that i feel did see one.

yes, if i did not see one ,i may think the same way as you.

but, if you want to just think for minute.

DID THAT SPROUL REALLY SEE ONE

HE SEEMS LIKE HE TELLS TRUTH AND IN WOODS FOR OVER 47 YEARS, ITS HARD TO BELIEVE HE WOULD REPORT SOMETHING THAT WAS NOT TRUE OR FACT.

he felt that amish thing was hoax and even went against his USP club on it being true.

he also did not stick up for the cougar group when they said they had pictures and did not produce them.

hey, that sproul may be telling truth.

well, I CAN SAY IT IS TRUTH AND I HAD WITNESS TOO AT 15 FT,YES 15 FT,with a loNg tail that looked like snake wipping behind him or her.it also turned quick and screached at me just like the penn state lion but higher pitched.

why do you think all of sudden in last 15 years that so many hunters, many i know are seeing a cougar.

we seen bobcats all our lives, why all of sudden they are COUGARS.

when you see COUGAR its color alone will shake you up.

i called it ORANGISH, your WCO friend called it TAWNY.

What was the name of that WCO in Clearfield county.
dont remember douge but he was there in 1993.

i went to POTTERSDALE to call him from a private home,i wanted him to take tracks, he said, SPROUL GROUND IS TOO HARD

WE SAID WE WOULD ASSIST HIM.
this was at 6.15 pm on tuesday in sept.

it was near the cemetary on curve on the road that leads to keating,pa from pottersdale.

this is shortcut from clearfield to renovo when weather is good,no snow.

so, i dont know if that WCO is there yet but maybe you can follow up and find out who was WCO and ask him if a SPROULE called him and wanted to meet with him and take tracks.

remember, HE DID SAY I identified A YOUNG COUGAR BUT WAS TOLD TO SAYTHEY DONT EXIST.

if you find out who was WCO then ,if you want i will call him and give him your name to call and he can verify what i saw .

TRUST ME, I SAW COUGAR AND ITS NOTHING YOU WILL SEE IN WOODS THAT WE SEE NOW.

WAY IT RUNS AND COLOR IS SOMETHING YOU WILL NOT FORGET.

i really thought i would get more people laughing when i said the COUGAR screached AT ME AT 15 FT WITH A WITNESS.

this was told to WCO too.

he probably thought i was WCO when i said that, i said color looked orangish and it ran like one of those orange monkeys with a 3 ft tail about 1 and 1/2 inchs round.

hair is no way like a bobcat,it was smooth and no black streaks down around legs like bobcat.

its head is something i remember a lot too.he had a very visible GO-TEE.

what a tiny head in between such big shoulders.

i estimated the weight to be about 100/125 pds.

the clearfield WCO believed i IDENTIFIED cougar but he said,QUOTE,SPROUL THEY DONT EXIST.

i said, MEET WITH ME AND THEY WILL EXIST,WE WILL TAKE TRACKS.HE SAID NO GROUND IS TOO HARD.

Sproul, one of these days someone will prove it. They will kill the cougar, take dozens of pictures, with dozens of witnesses, take a DNA sample in the presence of those witnesses, and deliver it to a neutral science lab to be analyzed before the PGC orDCNR gets their grubby hands on the cat and starts the cover up.They had better be able to stage a justified killing with a good story and stick to it. And done properly they willl blow this right out of the water, and then you and I and everyone else will be laughing instead of ridiculed constantly. My brother came closer to accomplishing this feat than you could imagine. His fear of the consequences kept him from pulling the trigger on his 7mm mag at a distance under 100 yards. he still regrets it to this day. Outdoor Life just ran an article on the expanding range of the big cats. Interesting that new england has them, the midwest has them, and the southeast has them...yet NOTHING IN BETWEEN?..... Gimme a break. The reason for the cover up is public alarm,( and possible PGC or DNR involvement in the 1970's)population centers in the northeast would be in A PANIC. (Even though there are so few of them the threat would be terribly low.)
