Default Northeast PA P&Y Buck (Pics)!!!

Saturday at 6:15. It was our work weekend up at the cabin in Sullivan County, PA. The rain was awful but I decided I would get out for a couple of hours if we finished our chores by 4:00. Saw 4 does and a nice buck in a hayfield when the rain let up for about 10 minutes. Does winded me and snorted. The buck left with them. I was about to call it quits and decided to try rattling for a little while just to see if I could force some action. This guy came in on a string. Rack was impressive. High and wide. Pulled myself together and managed toput a fatal shot on him.

132" gross and 128" net
25 inch main beams
10" G2s
22" spread
5" bases
G3 on one side was only 1 inch. That stinks but I'll live

Except for a G3 tine that's more than an inch long .

Thanks. I'm really happy with him. I didn't think I would even get a shot at a doe Saturday. What a pleasant surprise. I'm going to focus on getting a bear in rifle season.

Thanks. A few more pictures on this link in Deer Hunting:

Weather was terrible. I wasn't into sitting and waiting. I figured I'd have nothing to lose by hunting aggressively.

Congratulations. My hat goes off to you. That is a dandy buck with a beautiful rack. I not only respect the fact that you hunted in that weather but also that you were willing to participate in a work party on a Saturday morning during archery season!!

If it wasn't for the work party, my wife wouldn't have let me go away for the weekend.

Any time I can get in the woods, I'm going to take. Same thing with time on the water when the fish are biting.

Awesome deer. Bet he's a four year old or better. Heartfelt congrats. Killing a deer like that in the big woods of PAis a accomplishment.
