If I'm not mistaken, wasn't there supposed to be a large scale investigation/search to begin shortly involving the PGC, DCNR, and PSU to determine whether the cats are here? This broke on the news some time last year after a state legislator and his guests all witnessed a large feral cat near his camp or home. As for this story being legit...well, it's been all over the local news covering the Lancaster and Harrisburg areas. Perhaps I can find a link to the local news for all the naysayers who believe it is a fabrication of the USP. The fact here is that SOMETHING very real attacked a local man and severely injured him. What exactly would he stand to gain by fabricating such a story?

Even if this supposed attack did occur, has anyone given a thought to it being a big bobcat? I could ALMOST buy something along that line, but again, no body has been recovered...what happened to the dogs who were supposed to be "cat" hounds? Blood samples not yet returned...Toooooo much hokum here, methinks...

i do have friends in the DCNR that share my views on deer situation but have to play game and act like they are backing the HR program.

they said they have seen COUGARS but areafraid to report it.

soooooooooooooo, all these sighting in last few years cant be a BOBCAT,too many middle age farts like me that know difference.

i can only say to non-believers,keep open mind because they are here.no doubt about that .

this latest incident is as close as we can get to confirming a COUGAR,if its true incident.

i cant wait until blood results are known.

i hope the USP took a sample of blood and sent it out to another place for testing.

i agree also but the one picture i have does show a black cat ,i think it was in new jersey or md, not sure.

but then neighbor saying he saw 3 cats and then this guy is attacked by something.

what could cause the cuts he had,no animal that SPROUL has ever tackled could cut a person up like he was.

man, i am excited now when i go into woods in dark and come out, what a way to go,sproul fights to his death with a BLACK COUGAR,YE HAW...............

There has never been anyknown case of a black mountain lion being in existance.

Cut up,are you kidding me?Those scratches aren't bad enough to be from a rose bush.

It's a hoax Sproul, just like every other confirmed sighting has turned out to be.What happened to the dead cougar on I80 this past year?Yep,turned out to be a dog.How about the 4 point that a DCNR employee saw get eaten by a mountain lion? That's right,it turned out to be a bobcat.Don't forget the cow that got attacked in Potter or Tioga county.Oh yeah,it had a disease. There was no animal even involved.

Thousands of sighting and no credible proof. Why?Oh I forgot, they head south for the winter so no one sees ther tracks.Give up on it.We don't have mountain lions in Pa.

It really is a shame that some want it to be true so bad that they are overlooking the glaring discreprencies in the story.

These stories get better and better each time they pop up. Personally I enjoyed the hand to hand combat with the mountain lion in question. Good stuff man... keep them coming.

blood test SHOULD confirm if it was COUGAR.

lets wait and see,if not, its a HOAX and not very funny one.

as for dog thing on i-80 near snow shoe.

i never saw anything on this on being a dog.

i heard they found dog but not in same area as reported by pen-dot employee.

the WCO found nothing in area, yet the state police said they saw dog dead near the area.

that woman should have stopped and got a close look at whatever it was,she should have flagged down another driver to look.

i agree, not stopping and getting close look, she should not have even reported it,yet she said ,I KNOW COUGAR AND THAT IS ONE.

SHE SAID SHE SAW MANY OUT WEST BEFORE ETC.

i had to laugh, right near the cougar incident that we are discussing, homeowner said a cougar is under his porch.

it was investigated and found to be a GROUNDHOG.

yes, i bet over half of sighting are bobcats but the other half are from my friends,LONG TIME HUNTERS THAT KNOW DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BOBCAT/COUGAR.

sooooooooooooooo, douge, DO YOU BELIEVE SPROUL DID NOT SEE A COUGAR IN POTTERSDALE NEAR CEMETARY,NEAR KELLEY ESTATE 15 FT AWAY?
