EASTERN SPORT SHOW.........WARNING!!!!!!!
#1
I just wanted to drop everyone a quick warning here about the Eastern Sports and Outdoors Show website.......
My best friend just attempted yesterday to buy advanced tickets online from their site......You punch in your credit card numbers and presto you can print out your ticket.
I do know of someone who did it successfully........HOWEVER.......
My buddy tried it and after he hit "Buy Tickets" (after entering his credit card ##'s) The screen went blank.
He e-mailed the site to see if they got his transaction.......they said no.
Now today his credit card co. gets ahold of him that someone is running up a very large online bill with his numbers at various places!!! Over $1000.00 worth.........
He cancelled the card today and isn't sure what happens next, but this is the only thing that he tried to buy via credit card in the last few weeks.
Is this a coincidence??.....I DON'T WANT TO FIND OUT!!!
I was planning on buying my tickets this way too.
ANother tip.......CREDIT cards are protected......CHECK/DEBIT cards are not. You could have your bank account drained clean.
BE VERY CAREFUL MY FRIENDS!!!!

Matt/PA,Thanks for the warning. It sounds like a hacker got ahold of his number. That is why some were able to do it.I would go direct to the show even if it meant mailing to them to get tickets.

Thank you Very Much for the warning. I was going to go that route myself...not now.
Did you hear if the folks that run the website and the Outdoors show are doing anything about this?

I bought 2 tickets like that a week ago and everything went smooth and they have been on my statement. That stinks what happened to your friend, sounds like my usual luck.

Yeah.......it does stink.
The card is protected, but man it's just such a hassle with this stuff.
Frank,
Yeah he's going to let them know today if he can reach them , and maybe they can change some settings or something to make it more secure.
When he tried to buy the tickets.......he actually tried twice......both times when it came time to buy the tics, he clicked the button and the screen went dead blank and said "done" at the bottom...No place to print or anything.
If you DO try to purchase these tickets and this blank screen happens to you.......I'd worry.
Like I said this is the ONLY thing he has tried to purchase online in a few weeks, maybe longer.
For me......I'll wait in line.
