Hey Doug, Sorry it took so long to get back.

Like you said the weather was crappy but my buddy Todd, got a nice 8pt. with 17 inch spread, nice heavy beams, about 175 lbs.3.5 old.

We ended up at this point with 11 deer down. But some of us are still muzzler loading after christmas.

We only saw doe when my daughter was hunting with me.But she did end up pulling the trigger.

Tommy K. hunted Frystaks farmthe 2nd week and saw a ton of deer and some real nice buck. J. Frystak killed a big 10pt. with over 21" spread the 2nd day on his farm right across from Mark and Scott's.

Some real nice buck were taken all around the area.

Hope all iswell and feel free to stop out when you are up with the Andre boys.

I feel bad you weren't seeing deer in the county. I did hear some areas that alot of deer weren't being seen. But over all there are a lot of deer in Susq. County. The big thing now in this county is "QDMA". ALot of camps have gone to food plots and management practices that don't move the deer like before. Most are now just out sitting and not moving deer. The days of gangs of guys pushing large areas of woods and moving deer all over has started to fade away around our area.

As far as Doe tags go for Susq. County. I want to clarify what you said. First, Susq. County did not recieve 30 thousand + doe tags. The WMU 3C recieved 37 thousand tags. This WMU encompasses all of Susq., and parts of Bradford, Wyoming, Lackawanna, and Wayne counties. The tags are spread out across that entire area not just Susq. County.

I travel I-81 very often and see deer dead all the time. And see them in the farm field along the highway feeding. I would rather see no deer dead along any highway. Then to think because a lot are seen dead along the road that there are a lot of deer.

I'll second what yousaid about guys not moving deer.I've only hunted there twice butI've never seen anyone walking around inor driving the woods.I've also left well before dark on both occassions and saw deer just out feeding in the fields.I've never seen that anyplace else on the first day of the season.

How about this solution: All you guys who are complaining because you want to see 30 deer/day - y'all should quit. Save your money. Save your time. We PROMISE, whenever the population gets back up to where we're seeing 30+ deer/day again, we'll let you know.

Seem simple enough, right?

Most of the complainers shot 3 or 4 doe each per year the past couple years in the same area and now complain that the PGC ruined their hunting spot.

Those days are gone silver. It won't happen so anybody wanting to see 30+ deer a day might as well pack your bags.It aint happening again on state forest or SGL's.
