i was told that he was shot in Texas....

"This Buck was killed Saturday morning south of Junction Texas ` This past weekend. It was killed on a low fence ranch south of IH10 off of US 83. It has 22 scoreable points but has not been officially scored. The hunters lease is only 12 acres which makes this a truely amazing trophy. He had been seeing this buck for over three years and has been feeding extensively."

here are more pics.

Thats an awesome buck no matter where he came from but what idiot took those photos? I can't believe how many people don'tinvest the few minutes it takesto make a photo more tasteful and give such a magnificent animal the respect it deserves.

I guess we will never know the real truth here, since the internet can be full of false facts. If it was indeed shot behind a fence on 12 acres and had been fed for three years I can't see how anyone could consider this a hunting trophy. Sorry, but it would be NO harder to kill this deer than any domestic animal. I have way MORE respect for the guy shooting a scrawny spike or doe on a fair chase hunt than I ever would for the person who killed this deer.

steve,

you started out saying we'll never know the truth, and end by saying you dont respect the person who shot this deer.

how can you not respect them if u dont know the facts?

No, I don't know the facts. But if what YOU posted about the deer being fed for three years and then shot on 12 acres IS true, then this deer is NOT a hunting trophy by any stretch. It would be just as easy killing it as it would Betsy the farm cow!

I believe the post said a "low fence" area. The size of the hunting area a fellow has, in my opinion, doesn't enter into the equation.
