8 deer total.... 1 decent 8 pt and 2 does with the bow. One with the inline and one with the Flinter. One with the 30-30 and two more with the slug gun. Not a bad year

I counted 39 kills from just 13 guys above me on this post. Was just wondering how one manages to get up to 8 tags in one year?
I shot one doe in late archery season, saw no shooter bucks and saw zilch with the flintlock.

Good question MR D...I'm wondering the same thing now that you mentioned it...I'm assuming unlimited doe tag areas...a few out of state trips....what's the scoop?

Two states, Illinois and Pa, and a special regs county in the mix for me. The buck was from Illinois, 4 suburbia does in Allegheny Co (virtually unlimited tags) and two doe tags and a muzzle loader tag for the other 3.

Special regs area.I had 6 doe tags but the weather played games with my health and could not walk in the snow and ice and fill them all.

My 6 deer were all PA. 2 from special regs areas. I was one of the lucky ones to hunt a non-special regs county that had tags left for a 3rd round in doe season.

I hunted in public land in northern Lancaster (state game lands #46) on opening day of the firearms season. Since I was 15 at the time, my dad (a non-hunter) had to tag along. I didn't see any deer. But I've seen plenty there during the off-season. My dad got up and started walking around in a small field<img src=icon_smile_angry.gif border=0 align=middle>. Then he started smoking<img src=icon_smile_angry.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_angry.gif border=0 align=middle>. I told him I wanted to leave early because he smelled like a tobacco plant and a coffee house. It was the first time I went hunting, and it was definitly not a good hunting experience<img src=icon_smile_dissapprove.gif border=0 align=middle>.

In case you didn't catch my drift, my tags never got filled<img src=icon_smile_sad.gif border=0 align=middle>

Walk softly and carry a big gun...or just make accurate shots.
