Default Bucks in Northern NY in RUT ....

Ive been hunting almost every day since bow season , and I,ve seen nothing but does and fawns .
As many as 14 to 17 in one afternoon .
I havent seen a buck until this morning ..
Just at first light 11-8-07 I was in my stand for abought 10 minutes ,
I glassed the field with my nikon monarch 8x32 bonaculars and seen 6 to 7 images orf deer in a huge field grazing abought 600 plus yards away .
Abought 10 minutes went by and it was getting light out .
I watch one deer witch acted like a buck leave the field by it self .
A few more does also soon fallowed by entering the woods on the opposite
side of the field (600yards plus)
There wer only 3 deer left in the field when I noticed a deer chase another in to the woods .
While getting a couple quick veiws wit my binoculars I noticed one was definatly a buck .
I figuered it was sdecent buck because I could see the antlers from so far a way.
I grunted and used a doe bleet a few times and he turned and came back out in the field and started heading towards me .
It was like watching a hunting show , hed stoop and feed a few minutes so I,b grunt and bleat a little and hed walk closer twards me .
I ended up shooting him at 130 yards with my 300wsm. He went a short distance and layed down and never got back up.
I beliebe I could have grunted him in to bow rangr ,
Problem was my Bowtech Tribute was at home .( I had just switched my bow a few days ago for my Browning classic ).
He was a nice 8 pointer, had a pretty swellen neck , dark tarsal glands that you can smell from 50 feet away and fresh bark on his antlers .
Oh ya he dressed out at 172 pounds .
Not my bigest but a very nice slightly bigger than average NNY Buck.

Congrats, good hunt. But sounds more to me like Buck Pre-Rut action.

Forst off congrats on the buck, second, I grew up in Malone about as far north in NY you can get and hunting up there all my life I can tell you that the bucks tyically come into Rut a little later in the big woods, usually the Thanksgiving week or even after is when we see the most Rut activity, now living in the Rochester area the rut is in full swing now a couple weeks earlier, my guess is do to deer densities
