I live in the southern tier and saturday I saw 9 bucks running through before I killed mine. It was 22 degrees in the morning with heavy frost...I would say the chase is on in my neck of teh woods...

hunted fingerlakes region last year, weather was also pretty warm... seemed like it drew out the rut. I watched about fifteen does on the opposite side of a large field for about three weeks but saw no bucks there with them. Saw buck signs on my side but nocturnal. finally saw two bucks, rattled and grunted the hell out of them late one afternoon... Next AM they showed up right where I wanted them.
BANG...dinner!!!
If they are there and you invest some time, rut or no rut you'll get one! Looks like this year will be much the same as last year.

Been seeing yearling bucks chasing does all over the place here in 8N since last weekend. The peak is here I would say. Things may take a break for a few days at some point in time and then pick back up again. But there shold be a lot of movement in the next 10 days or so.

Today, November 9th at 7:40am, 5 doe and one buck spotted near my stand. The buck was after one doe and I heard the best grunting in a long time in the woods!! Problem was the wind shifted and they all spooked back in the dircetioon they came in from!! This was the very first time this season that I spotted any rutting activity, which is unusual for the area that I hunt!!
