overshot a doe.. big one too...she jumped my string i think,, and i forget to aim a smidgelow to compensate for the squat... and i was nervous, woulda been my first....saw a total of 6 today.. 2 bucks..one huge one..way to far for my range and comfort level of shooting so i passed him.. the smaller one i could have taken but i thinkhe spotted me and started to change direction.. didnt go the way i anticipated he was going to... first season with scentblocker.. and im hooked.. i didnt see one white flag all morning..and the wind was to my disadvantage... i think they could see me a little bit from my movements...and just changed direction but no noses in the air! nice friggen morning.. really cool so traffic was good.. damn near hit one on the way to my spot...lol.. i think i spooked one walkin to my stand ..

I didn't have time to scout much this season so I just went with my old faithful stand. First light I had deer below me on a gradual hill. They were at 60 yards. They were headed from the beding area to the AG fields. It was very weird. I think they were trying to fill up on acorns before they bedded down. They walked into a thicket and I could not see them anymore.
About ten minutes later they cam our of the thicket headed towards the bedding area. This time they were at 35 yards. I waited for a closer shot but on the biggest doe, but she only gave me 32 yards. I took the shot and and a branch i could not see defelcted my arrow right over the top of her. I didn't know it at the time. I used my binocs to look for the arrow and it was stuck into a dead tree right where she was standing. When I checked the area and arrow it was an obvious miss.
Not too pleased with myself i climbed backed into the tree less than 20 mins after shooting light. and radioed the news to my buds. As i was talking another group of deer appeared from the thicket. It was three does and they were walking a trail that would cross in front of me at 10 yards. I had perfect cover and place a shot in the last rib and out the far shoulder. She went 75 yards full speed and I heard her crash. Really easy blood trail to follow.
I will post pics later!
