where do you guys go hunting in NY, beacuse im in the big apple and its very hard for me to get up to the adirondick mountains, so i was just wondering were you people go.... good luck to all...post some picsguys!

Took one nice doe 8:30 opening day about 8 yards away now I got all season to hunt for bucks nice to have meat in the freezer this early

got in my stand at 6am. Didn't see anything until 8:20. A small spike came in about 50 yds. Nothing rest of the day until 4:20. A real nice 4 point came in at 27 yds and I shot right over his back. This was the same exact shot I took on a 11 point last yr and missed him to. Same run and all. Saw 3 does and a fawn at 5:30. I'm so upset with my missing.[&o]

i had the best hunt ive ever had, and probly ever will have, i had 5 bucks within 5 yards of me eating/sparring,rubbing,playing,making scrapes... only 1 was legal to shoot with the pilot resitiction....i shot, missed, he ran 20 yards, i reload, shot, hit a branch.... anyway, i ended up seeing 8 bucks and 7 does, and another 7 deerbut itwas to late to see what they were.not bad foronly 1 and a half days of hunting.

Wehad 6 of us at camp for the opener. 1 guy got a doe. I saw a doe over two days, but did not shoot. One guy saw a 9 point chasing a doe! And another saw a buck with his nose to the ground followingtrail. It seems awful early, especially since the woods are still green.

Saw a nice eight pointer, a Spike, a button buck and doe and fawn. Let them all walk. The eight will be really nice next year if he doesn't get shot or hit by a car. He also had his nose to the ground seeking a doe cause he didn't stop at all.

spooked 8 this morning.. slept a little late and got to my stand and hour later than normal.. 20 yrds away from my stand.. i shine my light a head of my.. 16 little green reflective eyes starring at me... shut my light off and gave a few grunts and blows,, they all ran off.. didnt see anything the rest of the day..

got a cracked limb, so im basically performing a "tactical scout" lol

waiting for parts to arrive so ill be back in business..

kingpinn,, im in western NY, from queens.. im about 5 - 6 hrs away from you... i couldnt imagine living in the city and being and outdoorsman. would drive me nuts! good luck and hope you can get out this year!

DEP has some good areas avialiable also check out Steward and Sterling forest , Dutchess , Orange and Putnam counties have good MUA's and WMU's all about 1 to 1 1/2 hours away from the city
