Commissioner Dunkle was elected president of the game commissioners. Will this have any effect either pro or con for bowhunters in Pa. With the departure of Vern Shafer who is inline to take his postion? Do you think that because the commissioner's decisions greatly effect us as hunters should we have imput into the canidates for commissioner? OH! by the way. Sooo long VERN. Don't let the door hit you on the way out. JERRY

I think it would be a good idea as stated to have some imput on who is elected as president of the game comm.We have a vote on who runs our country and look at their issues so why not have a say on the head of the PGC.

He seems to get to most of the functions and listens well to the issues. He is a Deputy WCO also. Here is a post from another board on something he did at this meeting that I really liked.
"Today at the PGC meeting, Rep. Bob Godshall was whining about how not allowing the use of crossbows was discriminatory to women, children and seniors. I wanted to puke. He also was questioned in detail about the HB 2181 issue. When he was done, Commissioner Sam Dunkle, got up from the stage, picked up a bunch of papers and walked over to Rep. Godshall. Sam said, "here Bob, are a list of 56 bows that are suitable for women and children. You may not be aware, but yesterday, a woman testified against the crossbow and gave us this list. Maybe you would like to study it." Now, this is as close as I can remember it, but it was just GREAT!
I will tell you, that the impact was pretty great.
Again, my thanks Jen. I truly wish you could have been there. YOU made a difference."

That is great news about dear old Vern! I hope this fellow is as good as what you say he is. We need to keep the "string gun" out of PA.
