Not at all - NYS has one of the lowest accident rates of any state in the country - lower then nearly all states with mandatory blaze orange.

Why would we need a new law when nothing is broke?

I always wear some anyway during gun season, seen too much tom-foolery in my time. I wear a vest.

Pataki vetoed it more than once when it went to his desk.I could see a need for it in the southern zone but not in the northern zone.Well have to wait and see what Spitzer does if it comes before him.

It's true there is no orange law for Ny, but you won't fine many hunters in Ny not wearing some orange even if it's just a hat.Are you planning on hunting Ny this year? I hunt up limestone run in Allegany state park.

I hunt on private property. During gun, EVERYBODYwears orange and nobody wears it during bow. We alsohave radios to communicate our locations.

During bow I don't wear any either. I don't see the need really. as far as gun, most of my hutning is done on state land, so I always wear it. My uncle just bought land, so hopefully this eyar I'll do some hunting there, but even then, I'll be wearing it.
