Morels in Western Massachusetts
I am interesteed in getting started in gathering Morel mushrooms and I was wondering what the best way is to get started, so I am looking for suggestions. I am sure that they are here to be found I just want to make sure that I know what I am doing. I checked the local colleges for courses and there are currently none being offered so I am looking for your suggestions.
Thanks,
HH

I usually stumble upon them early turkey season.... I don't know much about them, but when I am long walks looking for turkeys is when I happen upon them.

Morel season has been over here inpa for about a month now.I found about 400 or so.I found most of mine in stands of poplars. When I found one I would carefully search the area by lifting up the leaves on the ground.Hot weather and not much rain cut the season short here.I hope this helps.
