My thoughts as well. What county?

This is a shoot that a few of the regulars on here have mentioned going to. I believe I will be going as well. I have to find out which day I work down at the local shop and then plan accordingly.

Should be alot of fun from what I hear.

My archery club "Big Buck Archers" co-hosts this thing and we put alot of work into set-up and running it and it's a big fund rasier for the Boy Scouts so please feel guilty and come on down and shoot!
It really is a big event, no pressure competition unless it's between friends for bragging rights.
There are also novelty shoots like the flying turkeys, steel deer etc.
Varrying terrain and a large variety of targets. There is even a kids only course for the little ones and if need be we supply Genesis bows and arrows if a kid needs something to shoot.

There is also a large equipment auction at the end of Saturday's shooting where you can get great deals on stuff, and a nighttime "coon shoot" so bring a good flashlight.[:-]

I'll be down there the entire weekend as usual from Friday through the end of target auction on Sunday. A few of us will be staying at the "Big Buck Hilton" by the start of the courses as you head up the hill next to the kids course.

Its a good time, on a good weather weekend we'll get over 1000 shooters.

I'd certainly like that! Maybe I could learn a thing or 2.
I shot a course yesterday with my Montana longbow and really didn't do horrible. I had the odd wild one that would end up in a neck or other assorted areas but had a suprising # of 10's and even about 4 or 5 X's![:-] I only airmailed 2 targets and both of those seemed dead on line just high.

Its a lot of fun but boy those targets that are skylit or on the edge of a hill are hard to shoot at.......its a lot easier to picture an arrow flying off into space than it is finding it's mark.

I'll try to get my new arrows in and built before the shoot......I planned only on shooting it with my longbow anyway.

If you come down Jim try to make it Saturday, that's when most of the events take place plus you can shoot dark til' dark. On Sunday we start tearing down at 3PM to get ready for the target auction......just swing by the Hilton (The building above the shower houses and pool about 100yds to the right of the practice area) and ask anyone for me.

It sounds like it would be great, but I'll be out in Garrett county MD chasin' longbeards then. Wish it didn't conflict with turkey season. [:@]
