I agree with that - just look at this guy getting a life time suspension then hunters safety classes - WTF?

fines like that are definitely a joke. that sux. i think it should be a nationwide law that if you're caught poaching, your licence is suspended in every state. these guys are just gonna drive to another state to hunt for a while...

Probably New Jersey[&o]

There is an "interstate violator's compact" among many states that cover this, but unfortunately PA never signed onto it. Not sure if NY and NJ did either, but I'll look them up.

"Poachers beware. If your hunting, fishing or trapping license is revoked in Michigan, you will lose your privileges in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.

Failure to comply with the terms of a wildlife-related citation may result in license suspension in participating states."

New York joined effective March 2006.

Basically the compact works the same way for those who have been found guilty of major game law violations, as similar compacts work for those who have major driving violations: each state honors the decisions of others and will not issue alicense to those who have crossed the line in other states and had their licenses suspended or revoked.

It should apply to every state and Canada, perhaps someday it will.

Similar system they use to track other violtions like motor vehicle - of your state has a server on the network you will be banned.

I can recall some discussion about itseveral years ago when the interstate compact came about, but can't remember nowwhy we didn't sign on. Think there were somequestions about privacy issuesat the time, or some similar problem with the data base?

It would be a lot easier to implement once we have point of sale and a computerized license recording system.

I’m not sure we could do a compact without a computerized data base.

Hopefully we can join the compact in the future.

Maybe we could even get Tincup hooked up in the system since he seems to have such disdain for law and order.
