Now them are bucks!
Saw pictures of a few in that class taken on public land in Sully, but bucks like that aren't common anywhere -- they are special. |
RE: bradford county, pa.
whoa, whoa, whoa....wait one minute. Am I reading these posts right,.....are these all happy hunters from PA????? I thought there were no deer there and the PGC was a joke and they are mass killing the deer, and, and, and.......
glad to see there is still good hunting in PA (as I always asumed there was). ;) |
RE: bradford county, pa.
Now Bailey you need to calm down. :D
Couple dozen happy horn hunters Thetruth is that it has always been the minority that killed bucks --- plain and simple. (always) And there are more pictures this year than I've ever seen in the Sully, THe Daily Review and the Potter Leader. look at hickory run state park, hunted to death every year but each year a few really nice bucks get killed there. |

Stopped by the game commission booth a few times while working at the Eastern Sports and Outdoors show last week. Most of the comments I overheard while "eavesdropping" there, were about morelarger bucks, not guys complaining about fewer deer.
When I talked to some of the staff at that booth, they said pretty much the same thing: More hunters excited about having seen larger bucks and fewerhunters fussin' aboutseeing"not enough"deer, than in the past few years at that show. |

This one was taken in Sullivan County in 2002. The first year of antler restrictions. Not mine, a neighbor of ours:

RE: bradford county, pa.
i found it interesting that the "other" PA sportsmans group (USP ??) booth (the one that does most of the complianing about the PGC) was manned by rather "old" group of gentleman (I would say in their early 70s). I am not bashing the older generation, but maybe that has something to do with their viewpoints and opinions (if in fact the majority of the group is represented by who I saw).
????? just an observation |
RE: bradford county, pa.
Dough, I also noticed that at the Ulster meeting. There was a good percentage of folks older than me. In addition there was another group of younger folks(40-50) that appeared to not be in the best physical condition.
I had to wonder if some who just can't get out and do the hard hunt are struggling with that and looking for someone to tell them --- it ain't your fault. |
RE: bradford county, pa.
ORIGINAL: NorthPA Would that have been Hottensteins farm? Bedfords' -- Hugo corners? PS: how did the Jim Salinski anti everything meeting turn out in ulster? Did my good buddy B rowe give him an earfull ?:D |
RE: bradford county, pa.
Been to the Mountain House a few times --- years ago when Larry Epler still owned it.
The "speaker" in Ulster quickly identified the contentious crowd and avoided calling on them after one or two questions. |
