Default Northest Whitetails

Everyone goes out west to hunt elk and mules. Is there anywhere in the northeast that has enough state or public land for whitetail hunting ?

Here in Maine there is alot of land privately owned by paper and lumber companies that the public is allowed to hunt on. The deer are harder to locate as the only major food plots is the woods here. Some of the biggest deer found come from these woods. I forget what the state record is but it is over 300lbs dressed out. But to say you are going to see a deer there is no guarranties.

Lots of public land in South Jersey, not huge deer but lots of them! Check out the Wharton State Forest.

Lots of state/federal land in Vermont, just have to work hard for your deer.

Ah, we go ta few decent sizes S parks that you can get allot of room in, but not like out west. VT and NH has lots of Fed and state land with big tracts to work. Not high deer desnity though

NHhas plenty of public and private lands open to hunting. Population per acre is not as high as somestates and youneed to work bothpreand during the season to have good success. Populations go down as you head west and north in NH, but the deer are larger and more worth the effort. Seacost area has highest population but finding aopening in the 1/4 acre lots with the million$ houses toget into the bottoms and woods is a challenge.
