RE: Sunday hunting in PA

Lots of thoughtful comments here, except for maybe one or two nasty ones.[&:]

I also have plenty of time to hunt and really don't need an additional day. As a matter of fact, I'm sure if Sunday opens up, there'll be times when I regret having hunters, in my woods orall around my borders.

BUT! Why should hunting be "THE ONLY" recreational activity you "CAN'T" do on Sunday?
I find it incredible that folks aren't focusing on the fairness aspect of it. How did we ever allow ourselves to be so blatantly discriminated against that anyone else can booze it up, gamble, work, ride, fish, hike, shoot guns for practice. But we got to put our license away for one day?

Blue laws are a farce. The same religous fanatics go shopping, work on farms, go out to dinner and drink a cocktail, etc.

Giving game a rest is also speculative. Is game more pressured by scouting, putting up stands, hiking, 4-wheeling or by sitting in a stand all morning?

Landowner concerns are no different through the week than on weekends. It is their right to post and monitor their land.

I don't think we're talking about an enormous increase in hunters in the woods. Many camp hunters will still leave on Sunday to be home for work the next day.
It is the poor guy who has to attend school activities for his kids on Saturday or who works overtime on Saturday, or who simply has to get something done at home on his off day, that will benefit. It is also youngsters who may have parttime jobs or school sports toparticipate in.

I agree NorthPA. The archaic law is outdated, and it must go. I see that now very clearly. I would certainly benefit from it.

I am 110% in fovor of Sunday Hunting.
I work for a living and some weeks I don't have time to get into the woods.
Sunday hunting can be restricted to public lands and forrests if private land owners don't want to participate.

We have the same arguement here in VA. It is utterly ridiculous in this day and age.... I mean, come on people.... It is 2007... Not 1877!!!! The old colonial "Blue Law" needs to go.

Separation of Church and State my a$$..... [:@]

If the deer need a rest that bad...........give them WEDNESDAY. Let the working man have the weekend.

A shot from a rifle or shotgun almost sounds the same. So if farmers and other land owners feel the same way, then maybe we should tell them that we will use potatoes on our deer rifles and shotguns, or silencers!

They say better days are coming, but who knows when?
