Maryland hunting law question

ok, this may sound stupid but can anyone tell me the logic behind why it is illegal for a licensed hunter in MD to carry with them to the treestand during Muzzleloader season a muzzleloader and a .22 rifle for squirrels? I just dont understand why you cant hunt both since they are both in season.

Yeah it is stupid. They trust you in the first place to use a .22lr for squirrels and not shoot deer with them why not be able to take it with your muzzleloader. I agree. It is stupid if you ask me. Just big brother with a feel good law.

Because Maryland lawmakers are paranoid and NRP officers are cynical. In the peoples republic of Maryland you are guilty until proven innocent. And just remember, just because I am paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get me!

Because it's the sorry state of MARYLAND.
In Montgomery county, you can't use a rifle either (from what I'm hearing)
At least at McKee Bershers off of river rd. the sign says rifles and handguns ae prohibited.
I guess I can't use my Yugo SKS then.

As in all political arenas, law making is a game of give and take between parties, stupid or not.
Maryland introduced Sunday hunting on a limited basis a few years ago.
Each yearSunday hunting hasevolved a little more.
I believe that in time we Marylanders will have the choice to hunt every Sunday butwill still have restrictions, such ason private land only.
They have to keep the antis somewhat happy, their money is just as green as ours is.
Patience my friends, patience

The thing is when I took my daughter through hunters safety a couple of years go, the Game warden came in and talked to the class and he said in the state of Maryland the population of hunters is 4-6% of the people and the percent of antis is 2-3% of the people. But the antis are more vocal because I think a lot of hunters myself included have blinders and are only worried about what dirrectly affects them. But he was also ackes about the Sunday hutning and his views were that it is an old laws that needs to go away, he also said that there is talk in the game commison that it gives the animals a day of rest.I started laughing, I see no reason why there is a now sunday hunting law, out west you can hunt 7 days a week.

The difference between the anti's and the hunters is we are the only ones paying for the nice parks they like. When is the last time an Anti bought a hunting licence, ammo, or a gun? Me personally I'd like a year long state wide protest, how do you think they would like not collecting licence money for one year? Hard to fund a DNR without money.
