Someones BS us?
Pennsylvania's mid 1990s population numbered 20,000 to 30,000, and still appeared to be slowly growing. They can be found almost anywhere: from the suburban sprawl surrounding Philadelphia to the remote ridges of the Alleghenies. There are few areas remaining in the state where coyotes aren't found.

PGC estimates there are 25,000 to 30,000 coyotes in the state

In 2005, hunters and trappers harvested more than20,000 coyotes statewide, according to agency Game-Take and Fur-Taker Survey results.

Someone obviously screwed up in their numbers somewhere!
Allstate Insurance Company isn't going to be too happy that 20000+ of their stocked coyotes got shot
. They'll probably just step up their cougarstocking program since we can't shoot them

There are many times more deer than coyotes, believe me.
I personally don't care to know how many there are. I only get mad if I shoot at one and miss. I consider that one too many.

I'd put the PGC coyote numbers in the same catagory as their figure of 1.6 million deer.
They haven't got a clue!

About seven and I killed two. Them things never stop moving. Try it sometime.
I must add that I don't hunt them although I really should.
I shoot at them during deer season and they are always running when you see them.

Who wants to do the math on coyote here in Pa.? You figure every year 5 to 7 pups are born . A female usually doesn't have pups till she is 2 years old. Any guesses of our coyote population? Back inmid 90s it was about 20,000 they said. Lets say half was females of age 2. 10,000 coyote females who can breed. How much would these yotes eat and what would they eat in late march and early april that was abundant and easy prey?

We should train dogs to locate the dens and then we could exterminate the pups. Sounds like a new sport!
Kill as many as you can but you will never get them all.
Poisoning is the only way to get them. Unfortunately the poison kills everything else too.
