I have heard 4 stories of guys this year, missing close running shots at big bucks because they were using big rifles with high powered scopes. to me its not worth using a rifle, I use a remington 1100 with a hastings rifled barrel and simmons 2x pro diamond scope. opening day I took a big coyote at 110 paces and a nice heavy 6 pointer at 70 yards......... oh and I use a .44 mag

Pearson 440 quad, and a Mossberg 835 Ulti-mag with a 24" cantilever rifled barrel in woodland camo, topped with a Bushnell Sportsmans Real tree 1.5-4.5x scope. Gun/Bow were 8 - 11 last year taking 7 deer. This year I've had two misses (one a piece) and 2 hits with Zero deer to my record thus far.

i bowhunt - but do go out during shotgun -- i use an h&r 20 guage single shot with the heavy bull barrel for the first couple days then pull out the tc encore for the rest of the season -- i still take the bow out when i hunt next to my house -

no guns allowed by owner -- gotta say though the last few years i can count on one hand the shots i hear anymore - deer arent as plentiful anymore -

i hunt 3f and 3g

Now that we can use rifles in Toga County, I use a .243, 7mm-08, or a .30-06, depending on the mood I'm in. The last year we were slug only, I used a .50 caliber Encore. My shotgun (that has not been out in 3 years) is a Remington 11-87, cantilevered rifled barrel. It always did a good job, but I am sure glad we can use rifles.

Bow, shotgun mostly. But now that we can use rifles, I'm seriously leaning with getting a in-line T/C Encore. I hate to spend the money on a rifle just to hunt with it in two counties.

My PSE STL during bow season, my "NEW" Browning BAR 270 during rifle and my Omega during muzzle season. Getting the wife a 243 next year.
