Default DE Archery Season - October

Since the thread was lost in the conversion, I'll put it back up. Post all hunts here!

Saturday is looking like a NorEaster wash out. Sux!

Supposed to clear up by afternoon. Should be a great hunt if that happens after a NorEaster.

Went out 10/16 in the PM after cutting the weeds down at our goose pit. Wind was bad for the leased place which pissed me off because the crop was down and I knew no one smoke poled it. Anyhow, went to the public land which Im sure got blasted away at Saturday and as predicted, saw nothing. Neither did my father. I would have just gone home, but I hadnt been out for two weeks between bad weather and being down with a virus. Always nice to get in the woods, but disappointing when you cant do what you want. Oh well, will give it another try, weather permitting on Saturday.

Got a late start on Saturday. Wasnt set up until 415pm. Wind was good and it was cool so I was hopeful, but ended up not seeing anything. I was one of those antlerless shotgun days and I didnt hear a shot from anywhere in the area. Will give it another try next weekend.

Hunted White Clay Saturday Afternoon, and this morning. I didn't see a thing on Saturday, and I saw two bucks this morning, but well out of Bow range. One was a spike, but the other one was a decent deer. May try later this week. Anyone else been out in White Clay?

Hey Duck , we are picking corn at your spot on Rt 9 at the Ennis farm, I was in there today chopping stalks, across the road, I might not be on the tractor tomorrow , (wed) anyway, the guys were talking on the CB's on the combines about how much deer damage was back there , about as bad as they have seen , they were talking about deer eating corn off the cob and the cob still on the stalk, so that tells me something..... plenty deer, get dpwn here this weekend....

Thanks for the info Ron. They are in there, but the place needs to calm down a little more after the smoke pole season. Might take a day off next week and spend some time in there. My father and I were in there on the 16th. We were spread out good and neither one of us saw a damn deer. Not even moving through the refuge.
