Hi all,
Iam begining to lose interest in this bow hunting thing.I've made some good hits and some bad ones and and have never got my deer.They leave a good blood trail,but with hours of searching still no deer.It seems to be a very huge challenge.I've talked to a few other bow hunters that are having the same problem.Are any of you having a problem with this? Thanks

You probably should give it up.
That many bad hits means you have little idea what the sport involves, or demands.
It would be best if you gave it up for a while, at least until you can learn to shoot accurately.
Perhaps find an experienced hutner to teach you how it's doen.
If you're woundding that many, though, you have no business in the woods, if you are a real hunter and not just an ARA stirring things up, which I find more likely.

I dont know what to tell ya bud. If you put a heart lung shot hit on a whitetail with a razor sharp broadhead that deer will go down in 10 to 20 seconds. Now you have to realize that a whitetail deer can cover a lot of real-estate in 10 to 20 seconds. If you put a gut shot on a whitetail now you have a problem. You will have to give that animal some time before you even think about looking for it depending on the time of day and the weather you might want to wait from 4 to 5 hours or even wait until the next morning.

If i were you i would practice with your bow often and limit you shots to around 10 to 15 yards.

Dude you have a lot to learn about bowhunting you should stop bowhunting and start learning..

Learn what a double lung hit is and how to do it. You won't lose those deer. It is a quick painless kill and you will usually see or hear them fall whithin seconds. If you are really a bowhunter can you tell us where you are aiming, and what kind of equipment you are using so we can help further?

i have just a few questions


How many deer did you and your fellow bowhunters loose?

Do you wait to track after you make the shot or do you jump out of the tree and start chasing the deer?

Do you practice with your bow during the off season, is your bow tuned, did you practice with broad heads , are you shooting long distances at deer.


I hate to ask all these questions but i am just trying to figure out what the problem is there is something wrong to keep on losing all these f*****g deer this is just the ammo that anti-hunters need to give us the bad name that we as hunters have

This story is almost too hard to believe i am wondering if you are really a bowhunter as you say you are if you made some good hits as you say you did you would have found your deer after the hours of searching that you say you did

I've been doing this "bow hunting thing" for years and I've never experienced what you describe (good blood trail and no deer) nor know anyone else who has. This doesn't sound right.

it says that robmack has three post is there a way to find them without searching each post on the boards. something sounds very fishy here

Anti-hunters like to think that bowhunters just wound deer that go off to die a painful, lingering death. Nothing could be more wrong! A properly placed razor sharp broadhead kills very quickly and humanely and many of us have seen deer jump at the sound and then go back to whatever it was doing before the shot--so pain is not an issue. If you really are a bowhunter (which sounds suspicious to me), then practice, practice, practice until you can consistantly place all your arrows in the kill zone (using broadheads). Hunt only with razor sharp new broadheads and take only shots that offer you a very high percentage of hitting the kill zone. Then be careful and don't stop tracking until you recover your deer.
