RE: PGC License Sales Down
Those figures are fact. Provided by the Pennsylvania game Commission.
Perhaps you should visit an optomitrist for the "short sightedness" rather than the PGC spin doctors. |
RE: PGC License Sales Down
License sales have been going down the last five years. If you go to the PGC website and do a search on licenses there is a report in there with a chart. My buddy had it up the other day.
I think the trend will continue. |
RE: PGC License Sales Down
ORIGINAL: BTBowhunter I am not your personal research assisitant. The declining recruitment of hunters is a problem that is widespread. According to the USSA, we are replacing every 100 dead/aged out hunters with only 69 new hunters nationwide. Thats a loss of 31% yearly. There are literally thousands of references to this problem. Crawl out from under your rock and look for yourself! If you cared about your sport, you would already have seen this many times over. BTW, following your statistic, I guess that in a little over three years there will be no hunters left. |

ORIGINAL: DennyF Actually, I believe license sales were declining previous to last year and probably had been for some time prior to that. Blaming declining license sales solely on PGC deermanagement, soundskinda short sighted to me. Just to keep last year's drop in perspective, here are the previous five year's basic hunting license sales. This is only for the basic hunting license and does not include the various stamps, antlerless licenses or the furtaker license sales: Quote: [hr] 2000…………..1,038,846………………+ 5,531…………………...+ 0.5 % 2001…………..1,047,820………………+ 8,974…………………...+ 0.9 % 2002…………..1,017,154……………- 30,666……………… …...- 2.9 % 2003…………..1,018,248…………… + 1,094…………………...+ 0.1 % 2004…………..1,013,866………………- 4,382…………………...- 0.4 % 2005……………...964,158……………….-49,708…………………..- 4.9 % [hr] The source of this is also the PGC. RE: PGC License Sales Down
Why doesn't the data include "antlerless licenses" ???
Shouldn't Antlerless Lic sales be included in the total Lic sales data that has been presented here as going down. |
RE: PGC License Sales Down
here is a link showing how poorly we are recuiting our youth into hunting across the USA
http://www.utahwaterfowl.org/youthhuntingreport.pdf#search='youth%20hunter%20re cruitment%20ussa' This is obviously a large part of PA's declining sales. we are just slightly behind the national average in recruiting our youth but the problem is countrywide. |
RE: PGC License Sales Down
Interesting info.Noted that PA was "very restrictive" in its youth hunting requirements.
Suppose that could be a legit cause for lower sales?? This is all a moot issue. From reading previous posts it appears ALL PA Lic sales are yet tallied. So how can PGC Lic sales be down if all sales have not been tallied?? I'm sure its all a conspiracy by the PGC. |
