RE: Waiting for PA doe permit?

Turkeyhunter, I didn't send my 2F application in until 8/8 around 10 a.m. (one full day late). I've been monitoring the check via online banking, and it hasn't been cashed yet, but I haven't gotten the rejected application back yet, either. I think we're in the clear.

I saw that the PGC didn't list 2F as being "sold out" until late Friday, 8/11. I guess everything received before that time got accepted.

I totally hate this stupid mailing system. I don't deal in stamps anymore, so I never have any on hand. We have Pitney Bowe's postage machineat the office, and I pay all my bills online. I tried to send it on Sunday and Monday, but didn't have any stinking stamps at home or the office. I wish they sold the blasted doe tags online or o.t.c.

Well, It is 8/17, still no cleared check! I haven't seen a returned doe permit, so I still have faith in the system.

PS, I ain't complaining, just waiting..........

It could be several weeks yet before the County Treasurer cashes the checks or in some cases even opens the antlerless application envelops. The time line of doing those things is up to the County Treasurer where you application was sent.

The County Treasurer has until the third Monday of September to mail the licenses out so depending on the individual Treasurer they can send them outas soon as they process them or wait and send them all at one time and at the last minute.

The Game Commission has no choice on how the antlerless license are sold and at the present time they can not even be included in the point-of-sale license system scheduled to be implemented next year. Any changes in the antlerless processing procedureor having themtakenout of the hands of the County Treasurer’s, and done via point of sale, would require the State Legislaturechanging the wording of the current law.

Rsb, Thanks for the input, IMO, they should let the PGC dole out the permits, then cut a check to the counties, or just cut out the middleman, and use the monies toward whitetail restablishment!! Just my opinion........

Is there some formula they use to determine which county treasurer gets your license application? The WMU address is to a designated PO Box so do the treasurers stand in line? And how about when counties contain more than one WMU?
And if I can ad my $.02 gripe, I think the PGC should go county-wide WMU's. It stinks that my hunting area in the same county is divided into 2 WMU's.
Thanks

The number of antlerless license applications sent to each County Treasurer for processing and issuance is based on the percentage of that particular county within the WMU. AS an example if 10% of 2G is in Elk County then the Elk County Treasurer will have 10% of the applications for that unit to issues the license while Cameron County might have 35% of the applications for the unit.

Those are just example percentages and are the actual percentage for either county. I would have to dig back through old data to come up with the actual percentages for the counties and units.

There have always been people that had tuff decisions to make because of unit or county lines. Back when it was by county line I knew several people that could only hunt on half of their own property with their antlerless license. Boundary lines will always adversely affect someone no matter where you make them.
