Thanks WNY, not sure where the heck I was in Feb. But I missed it. Usually me, and the guys at work all talk about the past season when the announcement comes out in the newspaper. I never saw anything in the paper on the 05' harvest numbers, none the guys I work with did either. I even did a search on this forum, and it was never brought up. Seems to been oddly all hush hush.

Buck, I've talked with several of the state's deer biologists in the past month. On a person-to-person level (meaning not for press) they're all expecting an increase this year in harvest and herd numbers. It's largely due to the winter/spring seasons that were exactly what the doctor ordered to bounce the herd back. It'll take another couple good winters and springs to stablize numbers we've all been familiar with in recent years (prior to this past seasons drop). But they do remain very optmistic that we're on the right track to hitting the ideal numbers.

Forum-wise, harvest numbers were discussed here quite a bit back then (feb.)from what I remember. Some were locked and deleted. I'm shocked that none have popped up in searches.
