Hey all,

Does anyone know when the regular season and bow season starts in 8r or 8w. Im not to sure if it is the same eveery year or not. Im trying to plan my vacation time and I cant get a hold of my buddy for a few days.

Is it really the 14th? Down here in Rockland its always been the 15th. I thought that all southern zone counties were the 15th. But then again I could be wrong. Please correct me if I am wrong and I didnt mean to doubt you.

OCT 14-Nov17th is bow in southern tier just looked it up on the DEC web site

remember they changed opening day to fall on a Sat

Last yr bow and gun were changed to Sat which this yr will be OCT 14th

Thanks guys, I wasnt sure because of that change. I didnt know if that was going to be reimplemented this year. That was a trial last year, correct?

In the SouthernZone bow will open Saturday Oct.14th and firearms will open Saturday Nov.18th. According to DEC Big Game Section Leader John O'Pezio the Saturday openers will more than likely become traditional in the Southern Zone...
