I got there a little late today. I had to make sure my oldest made the bus. He didn't, i had to take him to school. I got in the woods about 7:30 And at 8:49 a buck came walking in front of me at 40 - 50 yds. I picked up my gun and put the scope on him and saw he was only a spike. Nice size body for a spike though. I would guess he weighed around 80-100lbs. his left antler was about 6" long and his right side was broke off to about 2". I watched him through the scope for a bit and he stopped and looked right at me. Then continued walking circleing me to my left. Anywhere else but meade and i would of had him in the freezer.

How bout you Doug?

Well doug and G2hunter. I went to Ft.Meade again this morning and while i was hunting i saw nothing. Got in the truck and started heading out looking in the woods as i was driving. i saw a deer in the woods about 50yds from the road. Screeeeech, i hit the brakes Backed up a little bit and just watched him. The biggest dangbuck i ever seen in the woods. Looked like ahuge 8 point and it's antlers went straight out to the sides, tines were long and high, Guessing 10" - 12".
Going back to that area and hunting it in the morning.
LEFT OUT SECTION LETTER ON PURPOSE.

AWWWWWW, come on now DW, tell us where.

Why didn't you just get out and shoot him?

I went out around 11:30 today. Was all setup and somebody walked towards me at 2:15. I hope it wasn't one of you guys. I mean, my truck was parked there and it was only a couple hundred yards in. At least the guy was nice enough to turn around an leave. I have had people setup less than 100 yards from me during firearm season.

I saw 3 doe and a spike.

I heard about 5 shots this afternoon. When I checked in, a guy had a 7 pointer from I.

It might sound weird but I don't like shooting doe in the evening. It's too much hassle to get them out of there and to the butcher. Plus I have 2 in the freezer already. The wife isn't big on venison so it last a long time.

Good luck, fellers! Nice to see they finally took a shooter buck from I. If I didn't have kids I would have scouted quite a few areas and have more places there to hunt. Not complaining though, we just had a great Christmas morning!
