md,
sounds good.I will be there and 2 other guys that I hunt with said they would attend.

89 Kings Hwy.Richardson and Robinson bldg is 2-3 doors down from the Gov Mansion.Go up the walk way to the rt of Main Entrance. That will get you into the theater where meetings are held.

Duck
Just an educated guess here, but they might want to inspect fetus(s) to pinpoint conception date.Would give them an idea when might the best time to plan these doe seasons.Of course in a perfect world with ideal ratio most does will get bred about same time each year. To many does = late breeding into late Dec and Jan = late drops = stress on bucks = puny does and yearling bucks etc..etc..bla..bla...My theory only. Will wait and see what the experts say Tues night:eek:

I dont know why they would be considered sharpshooters...

More like professional poachers

Hopefully you guys can get enough deer and convince the state they can depend on hunters and sportsman, and not throw tax money away at sharpshooters.

Yep - they called off sharpshooters only if hunters in Jan can supply 600 sample doe for CWD and Fetus sampling data. They will use all this to determine if CWD exists or the odds of it existing.Fetus sampling will be used to determine recruitment/breeding date, sucess of breeding, along with doe age class, fetus sex ratios etc..etc...I think F&G put together a good plan on short notice for hunters to supply these animals for the study vs sharpshooters. They also are supplying all the manpower for this study with possible volunteers to assist.Fly overs using IR is also underway to provide some kind of accurate count per hunting zone.

Going to be a real pain in the butt dragging out ungutted does and hauling to only 4-5 checking stations in state.

They did state if all 600 animals are not supplied thru lisc hunters they will use sharpshooters to supply the remainder in Feb.Alot of rumors were dispelled, many coming from the press.F&W stated they sat down with the press for 1 1/2 hrs one day to explain all details - BUT - what came out in print was totally skewed.Goes to show you, can't always believe the press. Duhhh:eek:

mdbo,
I got there at 7:05pm.Finally spotted your HN hat about 8:30pm.You left before I could come over and say HI[&o] I was sitting 2 rows back from you in Isle seat, blue coat, blue hat with American flag.I posed 2-3 questions.
I'm looking forward to the meeting/seminar Feb 14 at Milford High.
