RE: Mountain lion in PA RUMOR??

Everyone is waiting to see your proof of Pluto.
No, everyone is waiting to see your proof that Moiuntain Lions exist in PA. That's what this thread is about. Not planets, moons and God. And BTW if your 41 and can't come up with any other reason to believe that other planets exist than "enhanced photographs" maybe ask your Jr. High daughter to give you some ideas. I'm pretty sure she may have studied a bit about astronomy in school and may be able to enlighten you. And by the way as early as the late 1600's Galileo knew Jupiter existed and had already discovered 4 moons orbiting it. Newton had even determined the mass of all the known planets at that time. The existence and much of the physical properties of many of the planets had been prooved long before photography had been invented. There findings were accepted because they were "verifiable" by other scienteists. QuiteUNLIKE your mountain lion claims that can't be verified by any reliable source. But like I said, we're getting way off topic, go talk to your daughter. I'msure she'll be able to help you.

One last thing. A photograph can indeed be evidence that something exists. But not all photographs necessarily are evidence of what a person claims the photo is evidence of. Many so called photos of Mt. Lions in PA and NY are simply faked. Others are indeed pictures of Mt. Lions but simply weren't taken in P.A. or NY. So far there are no photos in either PA or NY that have been verified to be legitamate. That is, clearly taken in the state they claim to be taken and not altered and verifiable by a legitamate source like the NYDEC or PGC or a university or the like. Not the Eastern Courgar Foundation!

Here is a good example of a pic that went around in NY not long ago that people claimed to be proof of ML's here. The picture is unaltered but if you look at the rear of the deer you will see it is a mule deer. Don't have many of those in NY either!

Sylvan,

You made a claim about science not working that way and said something about finding a new element and wanted to name it after yourself.

I science does work that way. I went on to give some examples......God....Planets....Souls.

I know the planets are there as well as everyone else. But, science only has photos of them. No soil samples, no rocks, nothing. You want hard evidence before you believe anything. There is no hard evidence of the planets, only pictures.

I just wonder, you seem to know alot. Who really was behind the assasination of JFK?

Do you believe in evolution or the Bible?

Is there life on other planets?

Did we really land on the moon?

As you can see, there are lots of unanswered questions. They may be" offtopic" but they are examples of things that no one really knows the answer to. Not even you.

This is kinda like WMD in Iraq that everyone believed was there, except there are some video sightings of these felines that look like lions here in the east.

Read them all - sorry, not one bit of real proof. Just more unverified, reported sightings and opinions they could be here(which could be possible), but not one bit of documented evidence.

I know for a fact there is one less in Pa. A close friend of mine shot one the sec day of buck when it rained all day.He shot it with a 308 and it dropped in it's tracks from about 40yrds away in his stand above some heavy pines. He radioed me to come to his stand.I walked to where he was pointing at and there it was.Dead as could be.Called the game commision and asked them if seen a lion could one shoot it?He said they was endagered spcies list. And then asked why? Click, hung the payphone up. Anyway took a few pics of it,and had a big fire that night.End of story. They are here in Pa. though.

Would love to see the pics.
What area was it taken?
Did it have claws?
Are you serious?

RE: Mountain lion in PA RUMOR??

This isn't the first time or the last time that someone shoots a mountain lion in PA. If the PGC would remove the protection status from them the would be proven to exist once and for all. Why do they protect something that don't exist? If they thought there were none in PA, they would say, "Go ahead, Shoot one. We don't care "

RE: Mountain lion in PA RUMOR??

Yes, good point.
If they though none existed, wouldn't they say "go ahead and shoot one if you see it, so that we can identify it and possibly trace it's origins and such"?
