does anyone really know what the yote pop. is in new york or the north east for that matter? also, how many fawns/deer does say a yote den take a spring or year? i plan on getting into predator hunting this year just for something to do and to get out more (not much for T.V. to be honest). if any of you have read, heard or seen the affects of yotes on the deer herd send me a line, I'm interested in this. I'm was just wondering if the yote pop. + the # of tags we (NY) get for hunting season is a double edged sword as to why the pop. of the deer herd seems to be lower than in years before.

i cant say much for NY state, or the NE for that matter, but around me in NNY we have very few of them. I have seen oena round my house years ago, and i havent seen any in the other land i hunt(half hour away) in years. I know they are around, i hear them every now and then, but the population is low in the parts of jefferson county that i hunt. i dont know about anywhere else.
i was camping near georgetown new york last month and heard some... that doesnt say much either. But it was fun to sit by the fire listening to them
