Pa deer count day 9
#2
I won't be back out in the woods until the 22nd. However, I almost hit two with the car on the way into work. About 7:15 AM in area 5C of Montgomery County. The old man was seeing a lot of deer and a bear up at camp (Sullivan County). The word is that the trophy bucks have been hanging out in a bachelor heard up there in the orchard after 11:00pm. That's a little after shooting hours

I did not get to post since opening day but anyway I got my biggest buck to date at 6:30 pm onthe first day
! Did not see a thing all day untill he walked into sight at 6:15. He was out about 60 yards feeding when I spotted him. I was watching him and out of no where came a doe with 2 little ones and they stopped at 40 yardsnext to him. He just jumped at them all of a sudden and the big doe and 1 little one took off past him and the other little one came closer to me. At this point I had him broadside at 40 yards. Then the other yearling went with the other 2. At this point
I thought for sure he was going to follow them when he turned and headed right towards me. I had some Trails End scent on 2 wicks by my stand and he must of got wind of that because I thought for sure he was going to follow the Doe and her 2 yearlings. He came toabout 12 yards of my stand andI hammered him.I was so excited being that I got this big 8-Pointer onFederal land and this being my first buck in 5 years since losing my private land and trash family! I've been hunting this Federal land in 3D since that happened and I've gotten doe butno bucks. And the past 2 years the deer have become scarce there.Anyways thats that and my brother-in-law got a 6 Pointerlast night.
