Thursday was the opener of NH bow season and I got my 1st buck with a bow. It was a 6 point not that big but it still had all it's velvet. anyone know how to keep the velvet on the antlers I was thinking of a skull mount with the velvet on? Good luck to everyone this year

Congrats. Better go see a taxidermist because the velvet will start to smell and needs to be treated.

Congrats Bob!!!

Try this for your velvet antlers. Clean the skullcap very well and simply put the rack in the freezer uncovered and unwrapped. It will freeze dry over time. I did it with a small velevt muley rack and its still fine 12+ years later!
