Won't be long now.The brillant colors of fall.The earth smell while sitting in stand or hunting turkey.The sound of a deer walking through the dry leaves or those dang blasted squirrels driving ya nuts while you're hunting deer.
How about the sound of a flock of turkeys feeding across the ridge.Or the acorns almost knocking you out.That cold front moving in with the dark skies and changing temps.{Good hunting the next day boys}
Yep,It won't be long now,can't wait.

You forgot about the rain that I always seem to encounter on the first week or archery here in NY(oct. 15th). This year I will take my vacation oct. 19 through the 28th. Hopefully some leaves will be off the trees.

I let the rain part out spike..
I remember one evening last year a cold front was moving in and it rained got windy and real cold.I wasn't expecting it to be quite that bad and wasn't dressed for the occassion and dang near froze.I stuck it out though only to climb down the tree at quitting time to be facing the backside of a skunk at 10 yards.Luckily he pointed shook his butt and only gave me a warning.

Thanks for the visualization. I could almost smell it on the way home from the shop tonight. I go back to work tomorrow so that means bowhunting isn't far off.

Funny how different smells can invoke memories, I chew when I hunt (probably not the best way to be odorless!) but the smell of Copenhagen can remind of that crisp, fall experience. When I was stuck on a ship in the Persian Gulf which seemed like forever, I would take a whiff of Copenhagen and that invoked the best memories.
So glad to be back to enjoy the fall again; I appreciate this time of year even though it’s blazing hot because I know it’s not long before a full Autumn season is upon us!!

The last two mornings were nice and cool with a little breeze. That gets me to start thinking about hunting. There are some leaves on the lawn already, too.
