Deer Processing and Shipping...
#1
Hi,
A friend of mine from California is coming with me on a deer hunt in Quebec this fall. He will probably fly into Burlington, VT and I will pick him up and we'll head out. I was wondering if anybody had any advice on the best way to get any harvested meat back with him (for me it's no problem).
Ideally, I was thinking that we could find somebody in VT that could process the deer and ship it out to him, but I'm just not sure that exists. The only other way I could think is to have them processed (wherever since the customs regulations have slacked a bit), boxed with dry ice and put on the plane with him. United Airlines will do this; for a fee of course.
Anybody have other ideas?
Thanks,
Dan

most places that process wild game can send it just about anywhere in the world for a fee plus the cost of over night shipment.
if at all possible do your checking now so that when you go you will be able to enjoy your hunt and not have to worry about how your buddy is going to get it back home with him.
you might want to ask some of the local outfitters in that particular area how they go about it... after all most of their clients are from out of town and need to be able to arrange for the meat/antlers and what not to be processed and shipped.
best of luck to you and let us know how you make out.
