Default Tupper Lake NY 3D Mountain Challenge - 8/27 to 8/28

Well this is supposed to be the biggest shoot this year in Upstate NY. I hope to have some good competition up there.

4x 15 target courses, most people shoot 30 on Saturday, and 30 on Sunday. I picked up the last hotel room at the Tupper Lake Hotel last night, but there are other hotels within reasonable driving distance.

More info can be found here: http://www.tupperlakearchers.net/Rules.htm

Post up if you are going, I hope to see some of you there!

One of their more famous events is the Mountain Challenge 3-d archery shoot.

Information on the Mountain Challenge

Registration opens at 7 A.M. on Saturday morning at the Rod and Gun Club Lodge. People who have pre-registered may go directly to the pavilion area and pick up their score cards and avoid the wait. Pre-registration forms may be downloaded directly from this site. When registering be sure that you know what class you shoot in and what color shooting stake you will be shooting from.

After obtaining your score card, go to the indoor archery range and be sure to check out our raffles and sign up for our door prizes. Once you have finished signing up for door prizes proceed to the outside practice range. Feel free to practice as long as you would like. When you are ready to shoot go to the person assigning courses. Once you have your course assignment, please go directly to the course and start shooting. This will help avoid a “backup” of shooters. Transportation to and from the farther courses will be provided until 4 P.M. on Saturday and 3 P.M. on Sunday.

Anyone wishing to have their scores posted Saturday must have them into the registration table no later then 4 P.M. No scores will be posted after that. There will be no scores posted on Sunday until after awards are given out.

Awards will be given out at 4 P.M. on Sunday. Raffles and 50-50 drawings will also be given out at this time.

We have 4 courses of 15 targets set out in the woods of Tupper Lake. You may shoot 2 courses one day and 2 the following day or any combination as long as you shoot all 4 courses.

All score cards must be turned in no later then 3 P.M. Sunday in order to determine winners by 4 P.M. In cases of ties in the top three places a shoot off will be held to determine winners. The club house will be closed from 3-4P.M. in order finalize scores.

The classes we shoot are:

Pee Wee

Cub Recurve

Cub

Youth Male

Youth Female

Youth Recurve

Female Bowhunter Open

Female Bowhunter Release

Female Recurve

Male Recurve

Hunter Class (male & female)

Male Bowhunter Open

Male Bowhunter Release

Male Compound Aided

Money Class

Senior Class

We give trophies for 1st ,2nd, and 3rd place finishers except in the money class where we pay back 75% of the registration fee for that class.

If you are unsure of what class you would like to be in, please go to

http://www.ibo.net/rules/

and look up classes defined. This will describe what equipment can be used in each class. Shooting stakes may be a little different because we shoot modified IBO rules. Shooting stake colors are:

Blue- maximum of 15 yards

Green- maximum of 30 yards

Orange- maximum of 50 yards

White- maximum of 20 yards

Notices of class shooting stake colors are posted at the registration table and at the beginning of each course.

No one may change classes after they have started shooting.

NO ACHOLIC BEVERAGES ARE ALLOWED ON AND COURSES. IF AN OFFICER OF THE CLUB FEELS THAT A PERSON IS INTOXICATED OR UNSAFE TO BE ON THE COURSES THEY WILL BE DISQUALIFIED AND ASKED TO LEAVE. WE WANT EVERYONE TO HAVE FUN AND BE SAFE.

No range finders are allowed by anyone for any reason.

We also have a “Wall of Trophies” where you may bring in any of your mounts that were taken with a bow and compete for a prize.

All decisions by the clubs officers are final, and reserve the right to add or change rules prior to the shoot.

Food will be available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Saturday followed by entertainment from 6-10 P.M. On Sunday food will be available for breakfast and lunch.

We offer limited camp sites on the premises on a first come first serve bases. No electric or water is available however the lake is just a few feet away.

Venders are always welcome at no charge, however we ask that you contact us in order to arrange areas.

People who wish to come and shoot a round for fun may do so, however they must stop in at the registration table. The fee is $10 for adults, $8 for the cubs, and $5 for Pee Wee.

Anyone wishing to stay in one of our fine motels should make reservations well in advance. Rooms get hard to find during the summer months. Anyone needing help finding accommodations may call 518-359-9715.
