I had some contact yesterday with a represenative of the soon coming 2600 acre development. I might add 2600 acres of swamps ,heavy timber and farm fields. He said they have killed between 125 and 150 deer this winter on the property/He said they wont fit in to the new 8000 home community. I new it was going on ,but it really hit home when He told me they were all taken to the adjoining landfill and buried.

This seems to be a problem everywhere, including my area here in WV. I am only about a half hour south of PA and all along the I81 corridor is really bad in regards to losing hunting land due to developing. I am afraid it will only continue to get worse. [

Is the game commission just letting them slaughter the deer because of a houseing development? Never heard of such a thing. Crop damage is one thing but this kind of slaughter and for the purpose you say is unconsable. Whenand wherewere the meetings held to discuss this?Seems a lot of unanswered questions if this is allowed to happen uncontested over there in Pa.

Rick ,this was Game commission approved. They do alot of this in Pa.They often hire sharp shooters to do this on the federal parks such as Gettysburg. Why ???????? Just the mind set anymore. As far as i am concerned the Pa Game commission is so out of line .They play the political grab the money from special interest groups game so well. The property is being developed by at person who sits on The board for the study of future gambling in Pa He was appointed by the Governor. Rendell the rights rapist. The same property is a hopeful future sight for a Casino. STINKS of political bull

Now I understand why you were looking for land down in West Virginia. I would be ticked too if they were putting that development right down the road from my home. 150 deer is quite a few that hunters won't be seeing in your area next fall.

Sounds like most of NJ! We are losing tons of land each year and people jsut dont understand the value of good open land for future generations. Very, Very sad indeed........
