Default Shark Attack in Jersey- Great White suspected

Just read about it on Drudge. Wow, first in a long time, maybe since that Stilwell boy was killed miles from the shore by a shark that took a creek inland back in '27 or so....

here is the full story...
Surfer was likely attacked by young great white
Wednesday, June 08, 2005
BY ALEXANDER LANE AND TOM FEENEY
Star-Ledger Staff
A Long Beach Island surfer lost a chunk of flesh from his leg in what experts said yesterday was very likely an attack by a young great white shark.

It would be the state's first shark attack in 30 years, and an ominous entree to tourist season on the Shore.

I live in SE Pa and have not been to the Atlantic sewer beach since 69. The Gulf of Mexico just spoiled me.

I heard on the news that it is exactly 30 years since the last shark attack there and, coincidentally, 30 years since Jaws was released.

They think it may have also been a brown shark. Cardeer - the Gulf has way more nasty sharks than NJ. Bulls, lemons, blacktips, spinners, reefs, brown, tigers, hammerheads.
