FYI
The "welfare reform" legislation contains hundreds of provisions. Out of this massive new law, a handful of new federal requirements affect purchasers and holders of recreational licenses, including hunting and fishing licenses.
~.. Another requires government agencies to obtain Social Security numbers from applicants for recreational licenses, including hunting licenses.

I see it . But I'm telling you I have not shown a SS # ever in Pa for a license and they always sold it to me. You do realize the Amish dont have any and in fact I dont.Never had one and never paid any.Thats constitutional.

Will be interesting in a couple years when licences will be sold through computers like the lottery.

I get mine at Wally Mart. They ask for SSAN. I don't like the idea. I guess if it catches up with a few Dead Beat Dads, than go for it.

Well I quess no hunting this year in Pa. for me. I dont have a SS number. I just seen another article on this. what invasion of peoples privacy. Maybe I will go to work for Walmart. With the combination of the persons Name ,Address, drivers license # and now the SS # I could get real rich. then if they pay with a credit card I'm set up.

I'm guessing that someone's already got access to our SSN's. It's on a lot of paper out there. Rather than worry about this, buy yourself a paper shreader. Your mail/garbage leads to more ID theft than computers.
