Slunger, I've been a couple times on our farm in Braxton, and haven't seen a bird yet. I've seen plenty of birds...TURKEYS. They're everywhere. I saw over 100 a week or so ago, and I don't think I saw any birds twice.

Our grouse population is almost non-existant. It's a damn shame.

Seems the dame way here in PA, I remember around ten years ago they were everywhere not anymore. I did read something though that thier birth rates are weird and they run in good and bad spells. But 10 years is a long time for the population to come back up.

We averaged seeing one or more a day during deer season, which is pretty good considering we stand hunt and don't move around much. A buddy wants to take his dog there and see what we can do.

Hoyt...
What part of Ohio are you hunting in? We've seen a few south of Zanesville a bit.

Lots of sightings here but...I have also had them sit and watch me doing dishes thru my kitchen window....seriously there is a pair about every day outside in the multi-flora rose bushes eating rose hips.
Also, I flush grouse everytime I go into the woods it seems, but only two to three when they flush. I have seen more grouse and quail here in my acreage this year than ever before. But, then I have not hunted here yet either. Key word: yet.....next year if the population is larger.
