Default Ill. Non residence deer Licences

A friend ask me to go deer hunting in Ill. in Pike Co. He says his group leasses about 3500 acres. I had concerns that we would not draw a non resident licenses. I was told that we can get our Licenses through the landowner with out worrying about having to be selected by a lottery. Is that correct. Also when does the muzzle loader season come in?

You CANNOT get landowner transfer tags in Illinois. You have to apply for tags for a muzzloader in a lottery and the season is usually around the 2nd weekend of December.

Don is right. Tags are not transferable. If your friend is using a tag given or sold to him by a landowner he is hunting illegally.

If your friend is leasing ground and then selling hunts he must have an outfitter's license.

There had been some rumor about transferrable 'outfitter' and 'landowner' tags, but that does not appear to be the case. These tags as proposed would have cost about twice the current rate.

There is legislation pending to do away with the NR cap, and I expect that will be the case.

Good luck!

Yep,

And the NR's can get ready to bend over with the new price increase too. They want to raise the deer tags to 395 dollars, and then add you hunting license to that....................
