If you are talking about Ted Marums place, save your $$. While Ted is knowledgable and nice, he runs it like a cash cow. We were promised by Ted in 2002 that if we booked 8 men we would be the only ones in camp. We brought 8 guys from VA for the opening of rifle. When arrived in camp there were 6 other dudes for a total of 14 sharing one house and one bathroom. We ended up getting a motel which cost us extra $.
The land is nice but he has no access control over it. Opening morning I had a guy come in about 40 yards from me and sit down. Ruined my hunt. Then I went to another farm and had a pack of farmers doing a man drive right by my stand. We were pissed. It sucked. Go somewhere else that can guarantee limited amount of hunter traffic.

Yes I Am, He seemed like a stand up guy on the phone. He was very knowledgeable. Your kidding right! What did he do about the problem. I would have hoped he would have made you other accomidations, at no charge to you. Let me know more of your experences with him.LOU-LOU

Ted is a nice guy. A stand up guy---NO! He made promises he did not keep. He did not tell us until we got there that anyone else was coming. We did kill 2 bucks out of the 8 of us. Both in the 125-130 range. One was shot opening morning and the other was shot on the last day during a man drive. Can you believe it...man drive on a guided hunt...we were desperate. We did not see any real shooters the whole week.
The biggest complaint I have with these outfitters is lack of land. This leads to heavy hunter traffic to a limited number of stands. I like to hear from outfitter that they take only 8 hunters per year and they are booked. That is one worth checking into for next year. I cant stand when they promise fresh stands only to find a snickers wrapper under your tree.
I have given up on the guide thing for a while. I am going bowhunting in KS on a buddy's property. He has 1500 acres with a creek. I am going to hang my own stands and try my best.
Better pass on Ted. He caters to the sportswriters and Primetime Video guys not you and I. In fact while we were there he did put a sports writer (non-paying) on a 155 B&C. But he was hunting Ted's secret spot that we were not allowed to hunt. Don't fall into the trap we did. Good luck

I know of Ted Marum. I have two farms in Buffalo county near him that my hunting/video partner owns. I have also been trying to lease all the best farms in the county. last year I heard of one of the farms i have really been watching going up for lease. Ted got in a bidding war with me and teamed up with another outfitter ( Tom Indebro ) and they paid something like $60 or $70 an acre acording to the farmer, who also told me they only intended to take there tv cliants and video cliants ( who hunt free ) on that farm. So when you watch them on tv killing these huge bucks and book a hunt to hunt the same place, you actually hunt a different farm. I did pick up one of the hottest lease's in the county this year, it cost me a lot [:@] but worth the price. If a couple guys want in on it, I could use some help paying for it. We also sell a few guided hunts a year on our private managed farms each year too. Not to make a profit, just to get the tax's paid.
