RE: DNR can kiss my..........
what really gets me is that I hunt in section 9, 30 miles north of Hayward, and last year we were NOT a T-zone. Guess what, this year we are a T-zone !!!!! We saw crap last year. Only one of our party of 5 got a deer, a buck. Now we usually don't shoot the does so it's no skin off my nose, But why do they put us in a T-zone way up there, when there aren't many deer in my estimation ???

RE: DNR can kiss my..........
Welcome back wdhc. For all you people out there who dispute the DNR's numbers and those who don't, you should drop WDHC an email. When shown the facts with info gathered from the DNR you will believe the DNR is crazy, if not you must work for the DNR.
I also would like to know just who is bitching that there are too many deer to begin with in some of these units? Is it over a little crop damage within a DMU? Would not the sale of a few bonus tags resolve most of these problems? After all, the success rate goes up when guys are buying tags at $12.00 a pop. Are some of these complaints coming from areas that can"t be managed through hunting anyways? Sswpriz: Tell the truth, last year a deer ate a shrub up at your cabin and word got out. <img src=icon_smile_shock.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> I wonder who really complains up north by you? The paper companies? Wouldn't that be something with all the monies they receive for allowing public hunting? ![]() |

RE: DNR can kiss my..........
It sounds to me your DNR, is no different than the one up here in Michigan, when it comes to whitetail deer, they change there opinion every other day, on what to do with the heard, frist they sale all the permitts they can, and then they closed, certain areas. The group Whitetails Forever Network, is tring to get them to regulate ther policys better, but you what is like to get things changed in the DNR, and the NRC.

Guys at these meeting find the biggest landowner in the county and get them to take your side and drag them along. This has worked before because that is the guy who pays the most taxes in the unit and they have o listen.
55 and 56 should be T-Zone however the 4 biggest landowners got together and voiced a very very stong opinion and after the first year there has not been a T-Zone hunt. Just something you may want to consider. |
